The Harrison Wildcats will take on the Seton Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harrison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Harrison faced off against Lawrenceburg on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers 18-9. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Payton Tye was incredible, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Legner, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Harrison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Seton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Campbell County, falling 16-6.
Emme Jim was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. McKinley Ruhe was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
The win got Harrison back to even at 3-3. As for Seton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Seton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harrison has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Seton, though, as they've been averaging 11.1 hits. Given Harrison's sizable advantage in that area, the Saints will need to find a way to close that gap.
Harrison beat Seton 7-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
