Softball Recap: Kearns Takes a Loss

Kearns was the 9-8 winner over Granger when they last played one another on March 11th, but their luck changed this time around. Kearns fell 10-6 to Granger on Thursday.

Maliyah Solomon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Rami Hasna was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Kearns dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Granger, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearns will challenge Cyprus at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Cyprus' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Kearns' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Granger, they will square off against Alta at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Granger is facing Alta at the right time seeing as Alta is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
