West Florence has gone 8-2 against Sumter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Gamecocks at 7:00 p.m. West Florence is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
West Florence came out on top against East Clarendon on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Knights were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Wolverines. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Annie Eliason spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Paityn Daniels was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Marsik, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Sumter's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Lugoff-Elgin on Thursday. The Gamecocks skirted past the Demons 15-13. The Gamecocks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ivy King was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. King was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sumter got a massive performance out of McKayla Mouradjian, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, Mouradjian posted three hits, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Bailey Ardis, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Sumter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
West Florence's record is now 7-0. As for Sumter, their record now sits at 6-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Florence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Sumter struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
