The Foard Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 63-32 win over Cherryville on the road. Foard's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Davoney Dellinger , who scored 18 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Foard's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzer Abernathy, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Cherryville's loss came despite strong showings from Raylei Gidney and Laila Davis. Gidney scored nine points along with 15 rebounds, while Davis scored six points. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Cherryville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Foard racked up 11 assists.
Foard pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.33 points. As for Cherryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will take on Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bandys focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Cherryville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
