They escaped with a win against East Rutherford by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. The win was nothing new for Stuart W. Cramer as they're now sitting on three straight.
Stuart W. Cramer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Jordan led the charge by scoring 17 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taelan Whitley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds.
East Rutherford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dacen "pop" Petty, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. The contest was Petty's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Eno Baker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 5 assists.
The win got Stuart W. Cramer back to even at 3-3. As for East Rutherford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stuart W. Cramer will face off against South Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Iredell is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for East Rutherford, they will head out on the road to face off against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bessemer City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 531st, while East Rutherford is ranked 151st).
