Manatee extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 10 this week by beating Venice, 56-27. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Braden River made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,569 from 9,641. The improvement was the result of 28-0 victory over the Pirates last week.
Manatee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cord Sandberg threw for 253 and three touchdowns and Marquel Hines had 131 yards receiving. On the ground Trevon Walters chipped in 138 yards. Kelvin Mcknight helped Manatee's passing attack out by catching four balls for 56 yards.
Manatee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sandberg has thrown for 1429 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Hines has 23 catches for 473 yards. Walters leads the league in rushing with 607 yards.
