Softball Recap: Mayflower Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Mayflower came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Glen Rose Beavers a 17-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Mayflower pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Glen Rose, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayflower will venture away from home to face off against Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glen Rose, they will square off against Monticello at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
