Benjamin extended the longest winning streak in Southeastern - North this week by beating Coral Shores, 34-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Pope John Paul II took down Miami Country Day 43-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Carmine Giuffrida threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Will Jeanlys was the best wideout in the league this week as the Eagles topped the Spartans. Jeanlys racked up five receptions for 157 yards. Brock Turner helped Pope John Paul II's passing attack out by catching two balls for 81 yards.
Joe McChrystal provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Coral Springs Charter defeated Marathon. He completed 12 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 70 yards. McChrystal's favorite target this week was Nick Marill, who caught five passes for 104 yards.
Johnston McKenna was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 257 yards as Benjamin beat Miami Country Day. Teammate James Theofilos added to the ground attack by rushing for 37 yards.
On the ground, Ron Ream's team's McKenna has rushed for 1134 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Marill. The Coral Springs Charter star has 32 catches for 640 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pope John Paul II takes on second place Pine Crest. The Eagles bested Chuck Sennett's team last week, while Pine Crest beat Florida Christian.
Pope John Paul II's DeQuan McGriff needs only 93 yards against the Panthers next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 122 carries McGriff has accumulated 907 yard this year.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Eagles take on Pine Crest. Pope John Paul II's offense has racked up 312 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Jim Pletcher's team has allowed only 123 on the year.
John Carroll Catholic and LaSalle played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with John Carroll Catholic eventually emerging with a 7-3 victory. Edwin Thomas ran for 21 yards and caught four passes for 83 yards in the win.
