Baseball Recap: Macomb Wins Going Away Against Astoria/VIT

Macomb never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Astoria/VIT Rebels. That's more bragging rights for the Bombers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Macomb got a massive performance out of Drew Watson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Watson has posted since back in March. Isaac Leinbach was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

The win made it two in a row for Macomb and bumps their season record up to 8-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Astoria/VIT, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macomb will square off against Monmouth-Roseville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Astoria/VIT, they will take on Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
