The Triton Central Tigers won the last time they faced the Morristown Yellow Jackets, and things went their way on Saturday too. Triton Central walked away with a 43-36 win over Morristown. Given Triton Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Morristown is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Triton Central to victory were Eli Sego and Silas Blair. Sego scored 12 points along with six steals, while Blair scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Sego has scored at least 25% of Triton Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taggart Goul, who scored four points.
Despite the loss, Morristown still got an impressive performance from Cade Mahin, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Dalton Mcmichael was another key contributor, scoring three points.
Morristown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Triton Central and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Morristown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triton Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Milan at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th.
