Wiggins is 9-1 against Wray since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Wiggins is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
While Wiggins' win against Holyoke wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since November 14, 2024.
Wiggins took Holyoke into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 20-25, 15-9.
Wiggins can attribute much of their success to Saria Hawkins, who had ten digs and three aces.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Wray and Caliche have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 3-2.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Wray sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12.
Wiggins' win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Wray, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Everything went Wiggins' way against Wray in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Wiggins made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
