The Roosevelt Roughriders are taking a road trip to square off against the McDaniel Mountain Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Roosevelt's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Ida B. Wells as they made off with a 15-0 victory. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Roughriders this season.
Ruby Frish looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Elliot Neves was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leslie Homan, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Roosevelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
McDaniel came out on top against Franklin on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Mountain Lions skirted past the Quakers 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Quakers: they've now won three in a row.
Amira Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Anna Gladwin and Lucy Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Gladwin went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
The victory got McDaniel back to even at 8-8. As for Roosevelt, their record now sits at 8-5.
Roosevelt's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Roughriders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for McDaniel, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Roosevelt continue to outrun the ball?
Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over McDaniel in their previous meeting on April 11th, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughriders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
