While Prospect Ridge Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Fort Morgan Mustangs 78-41 on Saturday. The Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Prospect Ridge Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Travis Agbosse, who went 5 for 6 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Agbosse is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Bote, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.
Prospect Ridge Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Morgan only racked up three assists.
Despite the loss, Fort Morgan still got an impressive performance from Carlo Bassalle, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Hayden Marsh also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.
Prospect Ridge Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points per game. As for Fort Morgan, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
Prospect Ridge Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-82 loss against Fort Lupton on the 14th. Fort Morgan has also already played their next match, a 43-39 defeat against Eaton on the 16th.
