After flying high against the Bolles Bulldogs last Friday, the Nease Panthers came back down to earth. Nease's rough 49-26 loss to Providence School on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nease has scored all season.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Sullivan, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Utter, who scored five points.
Providence School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Mcabee, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chris Arias, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Nease's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Providence School, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
Nease will head out on the road to face off against Bartram Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Nease is ranked 167th). As for Providence School, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Impact Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. Impact Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
