After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pope, the Lassiter Trojans were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They snuck past Johns Creek with a 42-36 win. Given Lassiter's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Gladiators are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lassiter was led to victory by Kyhir Torrence and Jaden Emmanuelli. Torrence scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Emmanuelli scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidyn Davis, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Lassiter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Johns Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
Lassiter will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sprayberry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Trojans likes a good challenge. As for Johns Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alpharetta and the Gladiators are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
