The Live Oak Acorns will be playing at home against the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Live Oak knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Leland likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Live Oak didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Gilroy, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Live Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Jennings, who scored 20 points. Jennings is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Lozano, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Leland fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Ann Sobrato on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Leland has suffered yet this season.
Live Oak's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Leland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Live Oak was taken down by Leland 67-32 in their previous matchup back in February of 2017. Will Live Oak have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
