Avon found their leader in underclassman Maria Geary, who scored 25 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Geary has scored all season. Lauren Hill was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Avon's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Wayland-Cohocton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Le Roy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
