The Sandy Valley Sidewinders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 65-54 win over Word of Life Christian Academy. Winning may never get old, but Sandy Valley sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sandy Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tage Colon, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Damion Turner, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Word of Life Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Albert Viramontes, who scored 16 points. Ollie Davidson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Sandy Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Word of Life Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandy Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Beaver Dam at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Word of Life Christian Academy, they will face off against Liberty Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
