If the East Lyme Vikings were riding high off their 60-31 takedown of the Old Saybrook Rams last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Lyme took a serious blow against Fitch on Wednesday, falling 65-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Lyme has scored all season.
Fitch was led to victory by Xavier Goode and Jayvon "JJ" Robinson. Goode dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Robinson scored 20 points along with five steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Francis, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
East Lyme's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3. As for Fitch, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
East Lyme will take on Montville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fitch, they will head out on the road to square off against New London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully New London focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday.
