Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Rutherford's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Rutherford won the last time they faced Secaucus and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Anderson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Andrew Erickson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alex Tran, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Rutherford lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Rutherford has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Secaucus, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

As of now, neither Rutherford nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
