The Santa Rosa Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against IDEA Frontier College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Monday, Santa Rosa came up short against the Stingrays and fell 35-26.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lilyan Lopez, who scored nine points along with four steals. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Mendoza, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to IDEA Frontier College Prep, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They were outmatched by Lyford on the road and fell 69-14. IDEA Frontier College Prep has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Santa Rosa has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for IDEA Frontier College Prep, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Santa Rosa against the in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 50-19 win. With Santa Rosa ahead 27-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
