The Creekside Knights suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Beachside 57-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Creekside has scored all season.
Jade Spivey was Creekside's leading scorer, having posted 12 points.
Siun Crowley held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Beachside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madilyn (Madi) Ray, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. Ray hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Morgan Cremen, who scored eight points along with nine steals and six assists.
Creekside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Beachside, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekside will challenge Tocoi Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Tocoi Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Beachside, they will head out on the road to challenge Bartram Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
