Hope Christian is 9-1 against the Knights since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hope Christian Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Del Norte Knights at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Hope Christian is ranked 51st, while the Knights are ranked 75th).
Last Wednesday, Hope Christian strolled past the Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. The victory was just what Hope Christian needed coming off of a 57-37 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hope Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brookelynne Macias, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Zo? Mangrum, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Del Norte's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Valley by a score of 33-31. Del Norte has struggled against the Vikings recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Hope Christian pushed their record up to 9-12 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Del Norte, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Hope Christian against the Knights in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 76-39 victory. Will Hope Christian repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
