The Scotia-Glenville Tartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Greenwich Witches at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Scotia-Glenville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last five matches.
Scotia-Glenville pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glens Falls. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (58), Scotia-Glenville still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Scotia-Glenville saw an underclassman step up: Sierra O'malley scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points O'malley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Acosta, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Greenwich put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 42-31 victory over Mechanicville. Given Greenwich's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Mechanicville is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Scotia-Glenville's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Greenwich, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0.
Scotia-Glenville was dealt a bruising 61-30 defeat at the hands of Greenwich when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Scotia-Glenville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
