Palmer is 8-2 against Homer since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Moose will challenge the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Palmer's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Grace Christian as they made off with a 16-0 win. Considering the Moose have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tristan Barrey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Reed Craner was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Palmer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-6 otherwise. Avery Shults was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Palmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Homer not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024 (when they won 17-7). They put the hurt on Grace Christian with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Mariners' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Clyde Clemens made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Clemens was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CJ Burns, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cohen Boyd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Palmer's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Homer, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Palmer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Homer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Palmer took their victory against Homer in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Moose since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
