Hilliard is 2-8 against Baker County since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hilliard Red Flashes will host the Baker County Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Hilliard: 3.5, Baker County: 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Camdyn Beasley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Peighton Self was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Khloe Hardcastle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Hilliard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Baker County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Ridgeview 9-1. The match marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.
Grace Masterson tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Baleigh Shields, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. Karis Richardson was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Baker County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Hilliard, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Baker County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hilliard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Baker County, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Hilliard's hitters?
Hilliard came up short against Baker County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Hilliard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
