The Seven Lakes Spartans will face off against the Katy Tigers at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
On Friday, Seven Lakes didn't have quite enough to beat Cinco Ranch and fell  3-2.
 Seven Lakes took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 23-25, 25-23,  15-8.
  Emma Sabelli put forth a good effort for the losing side as  she  had 21  digs. Another player making a difference was  Ani Reyes, who  had 16  assists and 12  digs.
Katy had won two straight  games  and  Avery St. Amant did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Tigers walked away with  a   3-1  win over Cinco Ranch  thanks in part to  St. Amant, who  had 23  digs and five  assists. She has been hot recently, having  posted ten or more  digs the last three times she's  played.
 Katy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-19,  25-23.
 Seven Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Katy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Friday's  contest:  Seven Lakes has really dialed in their serving  this season,  having  averaged 6.2  aces per game. However, it's not like Katy struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 5.7  aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Seven Lakes was able to grind out a solid  win over Katy when the teams last played  back in September, winning  3-1. Will the Spartans repeat their success,  or do  the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
