It was close but no cigar for Magnet Cove as they fell 10-12 to England last Friday. Magnet Cove's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Eli Dawson, who rushed for 117 yards and 1 touchdown.
After a string of four wins, Poyen's good fortune finally ran out. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 12-42 punch to the gut against Conway Christian. Poyen were down by 12-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Magnet Cove didn't have too much trouble with Poyen the last time the two teams met as they won 27-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Magnet Cove since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
