In what's become a running theme this season, the Seminole Ridge Hawks gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Atlantic as Seminole Ridge made off with a 56-36 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Seminole Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Seminole Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Midget out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Midget hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Breanna Custodio was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Atlantic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keaira Todd, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Sheely, who scored eight points.
Seminole Ridge pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Atlantic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Cardinal Newman is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Atlantic is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Park Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Eagles are ranked 114th).
