It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 30-12 victory over the Cubs. Haxtun pushed the score to 22-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Simla cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Ryland Wolff, who rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry.
Although Simla took the loss, they still got scores from Caston Cox and Treven Kocerha.
Haxtun has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.1 points. As for Simla, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-1.
Haxtun will face off against Mancos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mancos is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games. Simla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
