Bethel is 1-6 against El Cerrito since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Jaguars will square off against the Gauchos at 4:00 p.m. Bethel will be strutting in after a win while El Cerrito will be coming in after a defeat.
Bethel took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Kennedy with a sharp 18-6 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Dakari Washington was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Fjellman, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between El Cerrito and Pinole Valley, and Pinole Valley kept the tradition alive. The Gauchos might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-2 to the Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Gauchos have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
El Cerrito saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arlie Tatum, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Tatum is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played. Mia Martinez-Rojas was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Bethel's win bumped their record up to 3-13-1. As for El Cerrito, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 13-2.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bethel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .602. However, it's not like El Cerrito struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bethel might still be hurting after the 23-1 defeat they got from El Cerrito in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
