The Selinsgrove Seals are taking a road trip to take on the Line Mountain Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Selinsgrove will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Tuesday, Selinsgrove earned an 11-8 win over Danville.
Selinsgrove got a massive performance out of Teagan Richter, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was Richter's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Hess, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
Selinsgrove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Line Mountain scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Halifax by a score of 11-10. Even though they lost, the Eagles' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Sophia Ulrich made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ellie Motter, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Selinsgrove pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Line Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Line Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Selinsgrove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for Line Mountain, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Selinsgrove's hitters?
Selinsgrove beat Line Mountain 15-10 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
