East Wake moved up to 116 from 186 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Conference 12. The Warriors were able to move up by beating Garner Magnet 54-40.
Harnett Central fell to Clayton 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Eric Hoy provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Comets defeated the Trojans.
Hoy was the best running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 177 yards as Clayton lost to East Wake. Rodney Rowe also contributed to the rushing game with 157 yards on the ground.
John Poulnott's team's Trent Evans and Evan Finch led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Evans has thrown for 637 yards this season, while Finch has 10 catches for 256 yards. Garner Magnet's Nyheim Miller-hines leads the league in rushing yards with 558.
The top two teams in 4A Conference 12 will face off this week when first place Clayton takes on second place Knightdale. Randy Pinkowski's team beat Harnett Central last week, while Knightdale bested West Johnston.
The Comets' offense has racked up 175 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Knights have allowed only 67 on the year.

The Warriors led the league in scoring this week by notching 54 points on Thurman Leach's team.
