Softball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic Victorious

Clearwater Central Catholic's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles a 12-0 shutout. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kaelyn Foubister and Bethanny Ortiz did most of the damage at the plate: Foubister went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Ortiz went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Ortiz has posted since back in March of 2025. Emma Carollo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clearwater Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Clearwater Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Indian Rocks Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearwater Central Catholic will square off against Palm Harbor University at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will challenge Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
