The Woods Cross Wildcats will take on the Skyline Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woods Cross knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Skyline likes a good challenge.
Woods Cross took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mountain View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Bruins 10-9.

Bree Benson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). Benson was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Audrey Ayala was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sadie Wall, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Woods Cross was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Skyline was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 6-1 to Murray. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Skyline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Eicholtz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Skyline's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-13. As for Woods Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woods Cross hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Woods Cross beat Skyline 16-13 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
