Greenville is 9-1 against the Vandals since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Greenville Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vandalia Vandals at 7:00 p.m. Greenville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Greenville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They really took it to Litchfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-12 victory on the road. While fans of Greenville might be used to big wins, the 45-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Greenville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Veith led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Campbell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Even though Vandalia has not done well against the Panthers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Vandalia simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 56-22 at home. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for Vandalia this season.
Greenville's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Vandalia, their win bumped their record up to 7-19.
Greenville strolled past the Vandals in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 61-46. Will Greenville repeat their success, or do the Vandals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
