Baseball Recap: Cary Christian Has No Trouble Against St. David's

Cary Christian barely beat St. David the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cary Christian was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over St. David's on Thursday. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Jacob Reeves and Samuel Snyder made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Reeves tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Snyder tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Reeves has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Reeves scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Snyder scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Reeves has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Cary Christian got a big performance out of Reed Harvey, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Luke Dearolf was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cary Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Cary Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for St. David's and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Cary Christian will be playing at home against Wake Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. David's, they will venture away from home to square off against GRACE Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
