South Hunterdon fell victim to Holy Cross and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Cross Lancers.
South Hunterdon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danella Silagy, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a double.
Even though they lost, South Hunterdon was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holy Cross didn't hit any.
On Holy Cross' side, not much got past Jamie Dunn, who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep South Hunterdon off the board.
At the plate, Ava Sadar was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Peters, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
South Hunterdon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Holy Cross, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
