The Clifton Central Comets fought the good fight in their overtime  contest against the Herscher Tigers  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a   71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Clifton Central's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 Despite the loss, Clifton Central still got an impressive performance from   Blake Chandler, who  scored 30 points along with three  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Chandler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aidan Podowicz, who  scored 12 points along with seven  assists and two  steals.
 Clifton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Herscher, their victory  ended a nine-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 5-20.
 Clifton Central will head out on the road to  square off against  St. Anne at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully Clifton Central focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday. As for Herscher, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manteno at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Manteno is coming into the  contest with nine straight  wins on the road,  meaning Herscher will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory.
