The Allatoona Buccaneers and the Rome Wolves will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allatoona will be strutting in after a win while Rome will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Calhoun scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Allatoona still came out on top. Allatoona walked away with a 68-60 win over Calhoun.
Rome suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-44 loss at the hands of Carrollton. While losing is never fun, Rome can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Carrollton is ranked 38th).
The victory got Allatoona back to even at 9-9. As for Rome, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Allatoona didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rome in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Allatoona since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
