The Tomball Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Klein Collins Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tomball has eight straight wins, Klein Collins has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tomball can't be too worried about heading out to take on Klein Collins: they just beat Klein Forest at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Cougars came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday.

Regina Amaya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matalyn Gustafson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
Klein Forest hit Klein Collins with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 7-1 to the Eagles.
Klein Collins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiera Rucker, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Klein Collins' defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Tomball, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Klein Collins' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Tomball has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Klein Collins, though, as they've been averaging only 2.4 strikeouts. Will Tomball keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Tomball got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February against Klein Collins by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
