They really took it to Peoria for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-33 victory on the road. Given Estrella Foothills' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Peoria is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Estrella Foothills was led to victory by Nemo Sidhu and Alina Bowden. Sidhu scored 20 points, while Bowden scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowden has scored all season. Eva Amenhauser was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and eight assists.
Peoria lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cieraka Lynch, who scored eight points along with three steals. Lynch has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Harmony Re, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Estrella Foothills and bumps their season record up to 20-3. As for Peoria, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
Estrella Foothills will take on Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Agua Fria is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Peoria, they will head out on the road to challenge Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
