The Renaissance Academy Knights lost against the Chester Charter Scholars Academy Sabers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Renaissance Academy fell 53-41 to Chester Charter Scholars Academy.
Despite the loss, Renaissance Academy saw an underclassman step up: Taijae Byrd-Breazeale scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was DJ Savior, who scored nine points.
Chester Charter Scholars Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emohj Barrett out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Barrett scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabryl Bennett, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Renaissance Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chester Charter Scholars Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Renaissance Academy will head out on the road to take on Alliance Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Alliance Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Chester Charter Scholars Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morrisville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
