The Stillwater Pioneers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Putnam City, posting a 56-7 victory at home. The victory was familiar territory for Stillwater who now have nine in a row.
Stillwater had a senior duo take command as Chance Acord threw for 351 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes and Holden Thompson rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Thompson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Trey Tuck was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Stillwater has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.58 points. As for Putnam City, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Stillwater will take on Choctaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Choctaw is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Putnam City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
