Bad Axe has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Caro Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bad Axe scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-18 victory over Vassar at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Bad Axe this season.
Meanwhile, Caro earned a 34-27 victory over Vassar on Monday. Given Caro's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Vassar is ranked 648th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaileigh Garza, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Alexa Long, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Bad Axe pushed their record up to 4-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Caro, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Bad Axe couldn't quite finish off Caro in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 42-39. Thankfully for Bad Axe, Adelyn Moore (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
