Mart is 7-1 against Wortham since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mart Panthers will be playing at home against the Wortham Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mart and 27 for Wortham.
Mart suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Marlin at home and fell 55-14. While losing is never fun, Mart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while Marlin is ranked 255th).
Meanwhile, Wortham took a serious blow against Dawson on Friday, falling 44-7. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wortham in their matchups with Dawson: they've now lost nine in a row.
Mart has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Wortham, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-15.
Mart strolled past Wortham when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 27-13. Does Mart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wortham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
