AAAA Region 6B recap October 1, 2013
Banneker made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,793 from 8,860. The advance stemmed from a 24-13 victory over Redan last week.
The Trojans led AAAA Region 6B in points allowed with 13.
Therrell's Chavis Jones and Christian Willaims led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jones has thrown for 546 yards this season, while Willaims, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 15 catches for 261 yards. Carver's Charlie Patrick leads the league in rushing yards with 242.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Banneker takes on the Panthers. At the moment, Ryan Andrews' team is in fourth, while Carver is in third.
The Trojans also led AAAA Region 6B in scoring this week after putting up 24 points.
