The Cross Lanes Christian Warriors will take on the Elliott County Lions at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Cross Lanes Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2  runs per game  this season.
Cross Lanes Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12  runs  on Monday, they were much more limited against St. Joseph Central  on Thursday. They came up short against  the Irish, falling  8-1. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.
 Cross Lanes Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Elliet Malcomb, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. Malcomb also put up a  double, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Elliott County). They never let Morgan County get on the board and left with  an   18-0  win  on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  victory against them.
 Claire Whitley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the fewest  hits  she has allowed since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more,  she posted three  RBI, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Kam Sturgill was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and four  runs. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kinley Offill, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Elliott County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan County only posted  an  OBP of  .294.
 Elliott County's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Cross Lanes Christian, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
Elliott County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Cross Lanes Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Elliott County, though, as  they've  only  averaged .214. Will they be able to contain Cross Lanes Christian's hitters?
