Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thurston). They breezed by the Redford Union Panthers to the tune of 53-23 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Thurston's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Redford Union, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Thurston and Melvindale will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thurston is facing Melvindale at the right time seeing as Melvindale is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Redford Union will take on Taylor in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
