Softball Recap: Clyde Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Clyde came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Kaycee Bingham, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy off the board. That's the fewest hits Bingham has allowed over her last ten contests.

At the plate, Clyde let Chasity Davis and Brileigh Dailey run wild. Davis scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Dailey scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Dailey has posted since back in March of 2024. Payton Allred was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Clyde pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Clyde will host Sweetwater at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clyde's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Sweetwater's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles take on Wall Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
